Check out the old light fixture! It's one of the few still remaining. I guess it was too ugly to steal.

We had a light fixture just like that when we bought our house. At the walk-through before settlement, our Realtor pointed up and said, very excitedly, "Look! That's original to the house!" DH very calmly reached up, unscrewed it, and handed it to her. "Here," he said. "It's yours."
House: $many thousands
Light fixture: $among the many thousands
Look on her face: PRICELESS!!
I love that shade of blue! You guys are working SO hard on your new place. I hope you reap many benefits of all this labour.
Is that a little tree frog??? Sweet!
Wow, you guys have been busy!
What, er, species is your little guest?
When I have the opportunity I am definitely going to add Scottish cattle to the Odd Farm.
The last picture is great -- the fixture is cool. Stuff like that adds such character to a house.
Sorry, that was me above. I hate Beta.
Kim: LOL! Your hubby rocks. I can't wait to tear these old "globes" down and put up something that actually blocks some of the light.
Peggy + Jay: My little guest is a lizard. I caught him trying to walk all over my fresh paint. :)
Odd Mix: Aren't they cool? Hoop and I instantly thought, "I want one!" But where would we put it?
Mama T: Is that your alias? Your secret is safe with me... er, us.
If I went to an axe throwing contest, even if we were behind a concrete wall, my Zach would figure out a way of getting hit by one. Just looking at the pictures gave me the nervous mom vibe.
But, hey, anything Scottish, I'm all over that....way fun!!
I love the fuzzy calf! That's Cute Overload material...
The house is looking great - may all your houseguests be as cute as the first one!
Sunshine: I held my breath through the whole kid competition. I kept asking people around me, "Those things are dull, right?"
Chris: I know! If it hadn't been drooling I might have buried my face in its coat.
Mamalujo: *Checks racing pulse* You should know by now I'm gullible! That's TWO I owe you now, btw.
Peevish: The second guest was a worm thing that looked like a leach and sprayed red stuff all over the floor when he was squished. No lie.
The paint looks great. And you had me convinced you were an amateur painter. Now, on to the easier rooms.
If I were to ever have a little hobby farm along with my alpacas I will definitely have Highland Cattle. They are just soooo cool.
I like that shade of blue. It seems to work in there.
p.s. - that was a really beautiful comment you left me today. thank you.
TB: Thank you! I'm not going to show you any close up shots then. Much better to run with that compliment. Hehe
Jay (CB): Can Hoop and I come visit? He really wants one. But I have no idea where we'd put it. I'm afraid to ask because he might say "the house."
Jay: That was a really beautiful post you wrote. I'm still thinking about it girl.
I love the little intruder. Do you have any cats? That ought to take care of that!
So many great pictures but I think I'll comment on... THE HOUSEGUEST! Cute! Cute! Cute!
Great color blue! Definately love the house guest!
That is such a pretty blue! Your places is looking great.
Sign me up for the highland cattle, too. I love wooly beasties!
(It took me 4 tries to post this! Visual verification only works if the letter are there to visualize!)
I LOVE that color blue. It looks *really* nice for your kitchen!
That Scottish cow is too funny. LOL
Tell us, is it really all that cute to find that critter in your house? The worst thing I have to worry about is a tiny little spider. I can't imagine finding lizards in my house. And the many places they will go??? Eek!
I love that old light fixture pic, well done. You guys have been busy to say the least.
Nice pics! Cow noses, cute lizards, and saucy home improvement chicks are three of my favorites.
I'm glad to see things are moving along on the house. Kind of fun, isn't it?
Fuzzy cattle - too cute. Love the shade of blue you picked. It's a happy color. Accent it with some white, yellow, and daisies and it's my dream combo.
That room is sort of a periwinkle blue. I love it! Dust masks are sexay!
Our neighbors behind us participate in throwing contests in their back yard :-P
Love the blue! It is a true homey color :-)
I love that blue!
Keep on paintin' working girl, it looks good.
great blog & thumbnail
The carnival looks so festive and fun. I'm liking the blue kitchen though. Very nice.
Hopefully you'll get the house all nicely decorated soon.
Ohhh a houseguest already?
OH I like your pretty blue.
Boys with axes? What were they thinking? At least I don't see a bunch of empty beer cans lying around!
If I didn't know the circumstances of what was going on, I'd probably be very afraid!!!
Nice blue dining room! Mine is almost the same color, although in 2 shades with a chair rail in between. Good progress!
Love the Scottish Cattle! What personality!
Ah the joys of being a homeowner; great isn't it?!!
