Check out the old light fixture! It's one of the few still remaining. I guess it was too ugly to steal.

We had a light fixture just like that when we bought our house. At the walk-through before settlement, our Realtor pointed up and said, very excitedly, "Look! That's original to the house!" DH very calmly reached up, unscrewed it, and handed it to her. "Here," he said. "It's yours."

House: $many thousands
Light fixture: $among the many thousands
Look on her face: PRICELESS!!

I love that shade of blue! You guys are working SO hard on your new place. I hope you reap many benefits of all this labour.

Is that a little tree frog??? Sweet!

What, er, species is your little guest?

When I have the opportunity I am definitely going to add Scottish cattle to the Odd Farm.

The last picture is great -- the fixture is cool. Stuff like that adds such character to a house.

Kim: LOL! Your hubby rocks. I can't wait to tear these old "globes" down and put up something that actually blocks some of the light.

Peggy + Jay: My little guest is a lizard. I caught him trying to walk all over my fresh paint. :)

Odd Mix: Aren't they cool? Hoop and I instantly thought, "I want one!" But where would we put it?

Mama T: Is that your alias? Your secret is safe with me... er, us.

If I went to an axe throwing contest, even if we were behind a concrete wall, my Zach would figure out a way of getting hit by one. Just looking at the pictures gave me the nervous mom vibe.
But, hey, anything Scottish, I'm all over that....way fun!!

Sunshine: I held my breath through the whole kid competition. I kept asking people around me, "Those things are dull, right?"

Chris: I know! If it hadn't been drooling I might have buried my face in its coat.

Mamalujo: *Checks racing pulse* You should know by now I'm gullible! That's TWO I owe you now, btw.

Peevish: The second guest was a worm thing that looked like a leach and sprayed red stuff all over the floor when he was squished. No lie.

The paint looks great. And you had me convinced you were an amateur painter. Now, on to the easier rooms.

If I were to ever have a little hobby farm along with my alpacas I will definitely have Highland Cattle. They are just soooo cool.

I like that shade of blue. It seems to work in there.

TB: Thank you! I'm not going to show you any close up shots then. Much better to run with that compliment. Hehe

Jay (CB): Can Hoop and I come visit? He really wants one. But I have no idea where we'd put it. I'm afraid to ask because he might say "the house."

Jay: That was a really beautiful post you wrote. I'm still thinking about it girl.

Tell us, is it really all that cute to find that critter in your house? The worst thing I have to worry about is a tiny little spider. I can't imagine finding lizards in my house. And the many places they will go??? Eek!

Nice pics! Cow noses, cute lizards, and saucy home improvement chicks are three of my favorites.

I'm glad to see things are moving along on the house. Kind of fun, isn't it?

Fuzzy cattle - too cute. Love the shade of blue you picked. It's a happy color. Accent it with some white, yellow, and daisies and it's my dream combo.
