Attaboy
I've caught myself saying some really negative things lately.
About myself.
"I think my eyes have shrunk. Great. There goes my best feature!"
About the house.
"It hates me. I wish I'd never bought the damn thing."
About life.
"If this is the point, I wish I'd never reached it."
I'm like the bully AND the victim.
It's been a long, hard day. Preceded by a long, trying week in a string of long, difficult months. Most of you have been feeling it too. I'm sick of being blue. I'm ready for the winter to end, the work to stop, and the fun to start back up. But Rome wasn't built in a day. So we're going to start small.
Say something positive about the commenter ahead of you. "She's witty." "He's a great writer." "She's got the nicest ass around." Make it up if you don't know what to say. If you're the first commenter, leave a positive line about me. I'll get the last person who comments before tomorrow's post. You can comment more than once if you'd like.
Negative remarks will be deleted. (Don't make me smite you with my spork. )
I love ya guys! Here's to a better day and an even better tomorrow.

I love your posts they always bring a smile to my face. and I love the little conversations you post between yourself and hoop.
I linked you on my blog.
I don't know Toni-Marie, but her name is beautiful, it makes me think of all things Italian. With a name like that there has to be a beautiful person behind it.
And Tink: your blog makes me smile everyday. And you are simply one of the most beautiful woman I know. And not just your eyes, but your smile and your heart as well.
Newt is a brilliant, insightful, witty, creative and deeply thoughtful person. She is also a great and loyal friend to many, many people who know that they can always count on her to be there for them when they need her. Unconditionally.
Aaaaaaaaand, although I haven't seen it, I'm guessing she has a really great ass too.
Mamalujo1 always knows just the perfect thing to say.
I consider Chris one of the hippest chicks I know. And I love her offbeat taste in music.
Mamalujo: I would have bought it regardless. I really do think it will turn out amazing in the end. I just don't think it cares much for me right now. ;)
Tink makes me laugh. Even on my worst days, she brings a smile to my face.
Kim: the mom, the myth is such a cool name. Hi Kim!!!
Excellent idea Tink. Damn gray days.
Peevish, your cats are adorable and I rather like your tattoo, assuming it is on you somewhere. I was considering getting a tattoo of tiny little handprints to represent my kids, and every time I see your photo in Tink's comments it reminds me of that.
Also, I have a permanent soft spot for Aussies - particularly, but not limited to, those from Perth.
Mignon is so eloquent and sincere it's a pleasure to read her posts. I imagine she also looks fabulous in a puffy pirate shirt.
Have a great evening everyone.
Tink: this was a truly inspired idea. You are my muse.
If you're the bully and the victim can you give yourself a wedgie? ;)
Steve~
steven novak may be an actual rock god PLUS he has a brain. Deadly combo.
Tink - You write well, have excellent taste and smell nice. On top of that you are freakishly young to be having all that talent.
Hmmm. Well...I don't know Peggy personally, but I have to say that she shares the same name as one of my favorite people in the whole world. So...if you're only half as great as the other Peggy I know, I'm sure you're a very excellent human being. And...that goes double for Tink.
I love words and girls doubly so. Ergo, wordgirl's awesome!
I'm sorry my last comment on the last post ended up being the very last one and that it was so incredibly negative. (and potty mouthed) I think I've been in a bad mood too. I'm grateful for this blog, and mamalujo's and mignon's and trattoria's and Hamilton Family circus, and all the people I discovered through this all. It's strange not belonging, but coming back still. Whoever comments after me, feel free to direct your compliment to Tink, as nobody really knows me, and I'm crabby a lot anyhow. Tink I adore you, and mamalujo thanks for the first brick in the yellow brick road.
foo is extremely handsome (i can tell by the picture) and well-spoken. The sense of humor (i can tell by the picture) is a huge bonus. Plus he knows at least a tiny bit of html, so he must be intelligent.
Great idea tink, what fun!
I didn't ignore spellconjurer on purpose, the comment snuck in whilst i was commenting.
meno LOL thanks for covering foo for me!!!!!! All I could think of, was that I liked foo's enthusiasm !!!!!! I'm sure there's far more wonderous things to foo than just that.
And spellconjurer, you're enthusiastic too, with all those !!!!!s. :)
Hugs, Tink.
Lucia...I just visited your blog and I love the quote you posted (the one by Dillard).
Tink: In the small amount of time I have been blogging, you have shown what a thoughtful person you are. I very much enjoy reading your blog like others it always makes me smile. And yes I agree St. Patrick's day would be a good day to start having fun again.
Ellie is a dedicated and wonderful pet owner!
And, Tink, you're cool too. ;o)
Ok, I'm a delurker here. I don't know ellie, but I love her name, it sounds lyrical. And she obviously loves flowers which makes her a friend of nature, which is always cool.
Now that I'm delurking I'd like to say that I thoroughly enjoy your sense of humor and the fun you spread here.
Ah Michelle snuck in on me! I don't know her either but she has fast fingers and excellent taste in blogs.
Maggie is awesome because she finally delurked! Go Maggie!
Tink is the wundergirl of the world. Even when you are down in the dumps you make me smile.
The name Susan always reminds me of Brown Eyed Susan's. My eyes are brown, and so are my mom's. I think of her when I think of Brown Eyed Susan's.
You bring a smile to everyone that reads your blog, and I think that is something very wonderful and important!
I highly doubt your eyes shrunk. You must have been squinting when you were looking in the mirror.
Gracey has the same name as my cat and she is just as beautiful.
*It will get better Tink. Think happy thoughts! ;)
Butterfly Girl is the most awesome person in the world.. and would you like to know why? Well for one, her blog has some lady bending over which all the men here like (right?) and she's a super good baton twirler. She also excels in mathematics and tames lions and dolphins for zoo exhibits. When she's not volunteering at the zoo she is often at the hospital, nursing the sick back to health. (All free of charge I might add) Needless to say this is one stand up gal. (Is that even a real phrase)
Note: All events mentioned are based on fact, not fictitious events that Spenser made up within the last 1.4 minutes. Thank you. (PS. Do dolphins need taming?)
Spenser is the definition of sexy.
Oh! I just nosed around, and Spenser is from Taft, CA! I actually *know* people who live in Taft, although I've never been myself. It's a small-ish town, yea? I wonder if they're your neighbors, Spenser. That would be cool.
Actually, this is the definition of sexy—but that's neither here nor there.
Alex has a little black dress, twinkly eyes, and an amazing smile.
Speaking of which... Tink, if your eyes are your best feature and they're shrinking, then that only leaves more room for your close second best feature: your smile.
Foo: Clever and witty. Ambitious. Talented. Athletic. Got a hot wife named Turtle who makes an appearance now and again (usually to keep Foo in line). ;)
(To those who accidentally got skipped)
Pamer: Always gives me a chuckle. Especially when he refers to his own spouse as "Pamer's wife." Which always makes me feel slightly dirty on his behalf.
Mama T: In another life I think we were sisters. Or really really close cousins who spoke in our own made-up language. You rock.
And welcome Maggie!!
Foo has a cool avatar, and a great blog. I'm totally in love with his blog title! I need to add a link to it from my blog. Plus, Foo always comes up with the best interpretations of the Word Verifications. I try to emulate him when I think my brain is being creative enough...Oh and I bet Foo looks great in his riding short!
...and Tink - YOU have a gift for making me laugh. A wisdom beyond your years. A wonderful outlook on life. A way of sharing it all with us bloglanders...
WV: sslgik...I got nothin'!
sassybead does not post often, but when she does, it is worth the read. Plus she is SEXY!
Oh and maybe your WV was from a mama typing out ssk for a knitting pattern, but a 2 year old thought it required some extra letters in the middle.
I had a revelation last night, when late into the night neither of the children were considering sleep... what if I just keep coming back and commenting - will people keep saying nice things about me?
Graymama, you have a wonderfully eclectic list of favority books - Dune and Hamlet? That rocks. And also moms that swear are my personal favorites.
This could very well be the never-ending post... Not that I'm complaining. I like compliments as much as the next Joe or Jane. ;)
Mignon, you are such an amazing/funny/talented person/writer/Mom. That's a lot of slashes huh? I find myself feeling simultaneously jealous/blessed/enamoured/proud whenever I'm around you.
Thank you Tink. The thought of me and you going back and forth with the ANTI Yo Mama thing is making me dizzy. Okay - here's the last thing, and damn you! Do not say anything nice about me! Dammit!
Tink, I've never wished I were a guy, but you may make me reverse this policy, because I think you'd make a kick-ass girlfriend.
The End.
***hugs*** Tink
