Weekly Words Challenge 3!

The words for this week were Common and Rare.

Although I had a ton of ideas for what I was going to shoot, the weekend got away from me and I only took ONE photo for this theme! I know, I'm lame. On the up side, it comes with a story.

How did you interpret them?

Rare

This is our mailbox. It was built to look exactly like our house. Which makes it pretty rare. Until we started remodeling, everything matched, from the paint to the shingles. Hoop hates it. He secretly hopes someone will take a ball bat to it in the night. Unfortunately, the mailbox seems to be built better than the house. Shoot, it'll probably be the last thing standing in the entire neighborhood. That is, unless Hoop takes a chainsaw to it first.

(Random Week Pictures)

Fall Flowers

Old Man Hoop

Monster Head

Redneck Fair

Do you see the tractor to the left?

The words for next week are:

Posed
and
Natural

If you haven't joined the fun, go
here for the rules.

Hey I like that mailbox. Does it have a back door so you can get you mail out if without having to walk around in front and stand in the street?

I played of course.

Jay: It sure doesn't. But man, that would almost make it cool enough to keep! When I was taking pictures of on Saturday, the neighborhood kids were laughing at me. So now I'm that crazy mailbox lady.

That mailbox is seriously cool. Now, you could paint it some really funky colors and add accessories. A wee Tinkerbell maybe?

I love the mailbox! I've always wanted either a mailbox or a birdhouse that is an exact replica of my house.

I played. And I think the mailbox is cute. We have a very common mailbox but the post is hand made by hubster and we have a clematis that climbs all over it so it looks a little more rare.

My grandparents had a mailbox that looked exactly like their house...including both front doors. I just thought that mailbox was so kewl. Sadly it did get smashed by kids out knocking over mailboxes...

Is it just me, or does Hoop look like he's um...watering the other masks in that first picture?

I like the house/mailbox - but I agree with Chris, you should Tink it up. And Hoop DOES look like he's peeing on the castle in the old man Hoop picture. Can't take y'all anywhere!!

I think you should replace the flag with a red spork to notify when you got mail (outgoing mail, whatever).

I played. ***hiding in closet***

Um WHAT is Hoop doing in that old man pic?

At 02 October, 2007, Anonymous Anonymous said...

So Hoop is one horny monster. Did I say that?

The fall flowers are beautiful. I think the mailbox has personality. Ours is just a big, and I mean big, black box.

I played also.

My first thought was that Old Man Hoop was not peeing but, ahem... uh, playing.

I like the mailbox. Maybe I will make one to match our house - when we get one.

You are doing a great job with WWC, Tink. And believe it or not I played AGAIN!

The one eye really suites Hoop. Love the fall flowers.

That is one rare mailbox. And yes...I can see why Hoop might object to it, but in years to come (after it is gone and replaced) it will be the thing that will come up in conversation. And further on down the line it will be a symbol of your early years together.

I say you guys afix a gigantic red flag on the right side of your house to really match. That would be f'ing awesome. f'ing i say

I actually tried to take a couple of photos this week. My common photos all ended up out of focus, and I never came up with a good idea for rare. Sorry. I'll take my 50 lashes now.

This week, though, I am SO down with Posed and Natural.

Sorry, no, I didn't see the tractor on the left -- I was too distracted by the line of people getting tetanus shots after riding the "Vomit-nator" in the foreground.
