Sneaky Bastards

I closed commenting on the last post because I didn't want anyone to feel obligated to say anything.

I opened my email box over the weekend and was completely surprised.

30 of you sneaky bastards decided to comment anyway!

Thank you.

It was appreciated more than I can say.

Hoop and I had a long talk over the weekend. We've decided to put the house on hold for two months, other than the critical termite problems. Now that we have a fully functioning kitchen, the house is completely livable. So, we intend to LIVE in it. It's time to have some fun, live normally. Whatever "normal" for us may be.

Although I'm not fixed, I feel better. Confessing that I'm overwhelmed lifted a huge weight off my chest. Sumo huge. Rosemary Shanahan huge. I felt like I should go home and have makeup sex with myself huge. I'm going to look into counseling and possibly meds too. One of my dear blog buddies mentioned it might be a thyroid problem, which got me excited at first since I thought my boobs might get bigger.

No such luck... On the boob thing. I don't know about the thyroid yet.

Tomorrow: Weekend Recap
Wednesday: Pictures

After Too Much Ado: I'm finally lifting some of the construction tape on
Twisted Tink. By five today there will be 7-8 chapters (previously chapters 1-16) up for review. If you've been following along with the story this far, you're going to want to reread them. I have made tons of revisions and additions in the interest of you, my reader(s). I would really appreciate some constructive criticism. So pull out your red pens and let me know what you think!

Putting aside the construction and taking time to live is an excellent decision. When we did this, it really relieved a lot of stress. Weight off your chest, hope in your mind's eye, a wonderful start.

The blogosphere is just full of the coolest people isn't it?

Taking a break from the house for a bit is a great idea. You have plenty of time to do whatever you want to it. And when you do go back to working on it, take it slower so it won't get to be such a hassel. (I'm just Mr. Brilliant Advice Guy aren't I? LOL)

Counseling might be a good idea. Just a place to talk some things out with someone. Save the meds for last resort though. I'm not a big fan of those meds. (See MORE brilliant advice! LOL)

Glad you're feeling better. Putting everything on hold is always a good idea. I agree with Jay about the meds.

(Georgia Rule had a whole stepfather/molestation thing going that I just wasn't expecting. *totally* thought it was going to be this feel-good grandma/mom/daughter story; instead, my jaw hit the floor a number of times in pure "where did THAT come from?!")

D'oh!! Get your nutrient levels checked, besides the thryoid. I felt like an anxious zombie for ages and it turned out to be a b-12 deficiency (all the B vitamins are very important for brain function). Iron deficiency can do something similar.

It's amazing how much just getting something out there can help.

Putting the construction on hold sounds good. You have been working so hard on fixing the house maybe you forgot to think about you. I wish you and Hoop the best, and I wish you some fun.

Well...you didn't think we wouldn't want to shower you with loves, now did you? I agree with Jay about the counseling session. I started going after my dad passed away, and I have found out all kinds of wonderous things about myself! It's amazing what a weekly hour of just talking to an impartial person who knows how to listen can do for your psyche and your sanity...

Enjoy your "house vacation." I think it's the best idea for you yet. It doesn't have to be perfect to be a home...just full of love and fun and friendship!

HUGS!!

I'm really glad you're feeling better. And I'm also that glad you and Hoop were able to talk about things and get some perspective.

I agree with all the above comments. Very mature decision to put things on hold for a while...take a deep breath...relax and like you said, have some fun. It'll all turn out good...you'll see.
You are on the right path!

It's hard to carry the weight of the world around on your shoulders - best to give it a rest. Thinking good thoughts for you and Hoop.

Good plan to let it rest. You've been dealing with house madness for so long, not to mention everything else going on in your life. Take care of Tink!

Not sure you'd be surprised, you silly goose. We all love you, can't you see that?

It would have been 31 emails but I couldn't / can't find your email address anywhere!

So there.

It's because we love you! So when are you going to convince Hoop to bring you to the UK?

Take a break from the house is a great idea! Getting it all done at once is just not normal.

Remember, it's not a sprint.

Awe!! We all feel like it's just too much sometimes! Like there is more yuck than yum. You can adjust to this stage of your life I swear!

I was told recently, "Worry is the rust of life." So true.

When I get time I will be reading your Twisted Tink, I swear!!!

i can totally understand why you did that.

that said, seeking help for depression isn't something else to worry about. you don't have to be crazy, you know. any clinician would tell you that you're under quite a bit of stress.
